Heavy Flow

Love this company, pads work so well! I am a heavy bleeder and the pads do a great job absorbing all of it.

A bathroom drawer holding wrapped Garnuu pads, an open winged pad, tampons and a cup

It sits on your most sensitive skin for days every month. The label is worth a read

Most pads are a plastic backing, a wood pulp core, a super absorbent gel and a top sheet that only feels like cotton. Fragrance is added. Dye is added. Chlorine bleach makes the whole thing look clean. None of that is disclosed the way food is, so nobody reads it, because there is nothing to read.

A pad is not complicated. It is what it is made of.

  • Certified organic cotton, GOTS and ICEA
  • Cotton through the core, not only the top sheet
  • No chlorine bleach, no dyes, no fragrance
  • No viscose and no super absorbents

Why the core matters more than the label

A Garnuu pad resting on a heap of raw organic cotton bolls

The material

Cotton, certified twice

GOTS and ICEA both certify this cotton, and the certification covers the core rather than a surface layer. Two independent standards on the same material is a harder thing to claim than one.

Extreme macro of a pad top sheet, its woven texture and quilted stitching

The gap

Organic usually means the thin top sheet

You are looking at the layer the word on the box describes. Underneath it, on most pads sold as organic, sits the same wood pulp and super absorbent gel as everything else on the shelf.

A Garnuu pad open with its wings spread, beside one still sealed in its plain film wrapper

The solution

Nothing added, wings included

Cotton core, no viscose, no super absorbents, no bleach, no dye, no fragrance. Day and night pads have wings, open here so you can see them. Every one is individually wrapped, so it travels without a case.

INTERNAL PREVIEW. The core claim, the seven-of-seven count and the 7% figure are pending a bill of materials check.

Read the label again

Organic cotton, or organic cotton on top?

The top sheet is what touches your skin. The core underneath is what does the holding. On most pads sold as organic, only one of those two is cotton.

What the label usually means

A generic pad cut open: a thin cotton top sheet lifted away from a dense grey synthetic core

A thin cotton sheet over a core of super absorbent polymer, wood pulp and viscose. The claim stops at the thinnest part.

Garnuu pads

A Garnuu pad cut open: soft white organic cotton from the top sheet through the whole core

Organic cotton the whole way through. No super absorbent polymer, no viscose.

We read the published cores of seven competitor pads. Seven of seven use a synthetic core. Not one lists organic cotton in the core. The word on the front of the box was describing the layer you touch.

One of them even publishes the number: 7% organically grown cotton, on a box whose front says organic in big white letters.

Four competitor pad labels with the qualifier words boxed: Topsheet, Cover, Top Layer Fibers, Cover Pads, 7 percent

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know before you order

How many boxes do I actually need?
Most people start with two: day pads and night pads. If you spot before and after, add liners as a third. The builder shows the running total so you can see where you land against the $50 free shipping line.
Is the cotton organic all the way through?
Yes. GOTS certified and ICEA certified cotton, and not only the top sheet. Plenty of pads sold as organic use a cotton feel top layer over a wood pulp and plastic core.
What is not in them?
No chlorine bleach, no dyes, no fragrance, no viscose, no super absorbent polymer. That is the whole list, and it is the reason they are non irritant.
How often should the box arrive?
Pick any cadence from every month to every six months. One schedule covers the whole box, so pads and liners arrive together. Change it whenever you want.
What if I need a different mix next time?
Change the mix in your account before the next order. Nothing is locked in after the first box.
How fast does it ship?
Orders leave in one to two days. Over $50 ships free inside the US.

What the subscription actually feels like

Your mix, your box

Built around your life

Mix and match pads, tampons, liners and absorbencies until the box fits your life exactly. Heavy start, light finish, liners in between. It is your cycle, so it is your box.

It arrives

Nothing to notice

There is no scent, because there is nothing to mask. You stop noticing the product at all, which is the whole point. You just get on with your day.

From then on

Your life, front and center

The box shows up before you run out. No more last minute drives to the store, no emergency backup plans. Your cycle stops planning your month for you.

Frequently asked questions

The rest of it

What exactly is certified?
The cotton. GOTS certified and ICEA certified, and not just the top sheet.
Are they bleached?
Not with chlorine. We make them without chlorine bleach, dyes or fragrance.
Do the pads have wings?
Day pads and night pads have wings. Liners do not.
How many are in a box?
10 Day Pads, 8 Night Pads, or 24 Panty Liners. One product per box, and you choose how many boxes of each.
Are liners wrapped individually?
Yes, 24 to a box, each one wrapped.
What does a box cost?
$11 one time, $10 on a subscription, for any of the three. The saving applies to every box on every delivery.
Can I mix pads and tampons in one box?
Yes. Open the tampon section inside the builder and add them to the same box on the same schedule. Every tampon wrapper is printed with its own little line of encouragement.
Can I skip a delivery?
Yes, from your account, and you can change the mix at the same time.
What if it does not suit me?
Cancel from your account with no window to miss and no call to make. If a box arrives damaged we replace it.
Do you ship outside the US?
Rates and destinations are calculated at checkout. The free shipping line of $50 applies inside the US.
What does each purchase fund?
A portion of every order goes to Time for Girls Global, our partner on the ground. They reach girls where they are most vulnerable to exploitation and bring hope, dignity, and something practical to use this month. The full story lives on our mission page.
